We knew from the first moments of meeting Jenn that she was the perfect person to help our daughter with her speech and eating issues.
Nadia was born with a rare chromosomal disorder, 22q13.1q13.2 She a long list of medical issues including structural malformations of the mouth that make it difficult for her to formulate sounds, eat foods or drink through her mouth. Jenn came in to our home and not only worked with Nadia but has trained us, our home aids and created programs for her to use at school. It still amazes me to watch the two of them working so hard. Jenn has a great deal of knowledge and she is able to connect it into our every day life to make things work in our house. Nadia sees the benefits of her hard work with Jenn regularly asks when is Jenn coming over next!
The changes we have seen in our daughter are amazing, I wish we could have found Jenn years ago! Nadia is straw drinking for the first time in her life. She is trying new textures of foods since she understands how to move her mouth for chewing. Nadia can now use a variety of words to tell us what she wants and continues to develop her skills with her augmentative communication system on her ipad which Jenn set up.
To have Jenn in our lives is a great big blessing for Nadia and us as family. We look forward to working with Jenn for many more years and cant wait to see what our little Angel Nadia will learn and accomplish with Jenn’s help.
