Betty's Story

Betty's Story - Jabbermouths, speech and feeding therapy

Betty had a severe stroke leaving her paralyzed on her left side. This changed her speech and eating habits, both very frustrating and embarrassing for someone who previously spoke publicly for a living.  We met Jenn and things have started to change for the better. Betty not only adores Jenn and her creative, fun approach during their time together but is learning new tricks every week. There are days where Betty does not have to wear a bib because she is controlling her saliva and food better. I find myself saying “what” less often because she is speaking with a stronger/clearer voice. Jenn has worked with our in-home nurses and other staff in our lives to ensure everyone is using the same techniques throughout Betty’s day. We are so grateful to have found Jenn and would highly recommend her to other people who have suffered from a stroke and are looking for creative approaches to treatment.
